“Estão a Ensinar-nos a Ver”: Interpretações e Aquisição de Competências do Olhar Fotográfico em Contextos Educativos

Resumo

Este artigo explora de que forma o “olhar especializado” é interpretado e desenvolvido no ensino profissional de fotografia. Com base em entrevistas com docentes, discussões em grupos focais com estudantes e análise dos planos curriculares de três escolas de fotografia na Rússia e na Suécia, o artigo analisa de que forma o olhar fotográfico é concetualizado, treinado e desenvolvido em distintos contextos institucionais e culturais. Combinando os referenciais do profissionalismo e do conhecimento prático, o artigo examina o desenvolvimento das competências do olhar através de três dimensões analiticamente distinguíveis, destacadas nos programas: “olhar informado”, “olhar ético e crítico” e “olhar criativo”. Um conhecimento cultural amplo e uma erudição visual (nasmotrennost’, em russo) constituem a base, enquanto uma perspetiva crítica do mundo e eticamente orientada molda o olhar profissional. Em conjunto, estas dimensões permitem um “olhar em ação” rápido e sensível ao contexto durante a produção de imagens, desenvolvido através de uma prática que reproduz as exigências do trabalho fotográfico no mundo real.

    Liudmila Voronova é professora associada e docente de Jornalismo na Universidade de Södertörn (Suécia). Os seus interesses de investigação incluem estudos comparativos das culturas jornalísticas, jornalismo visual, género e interseccionalidade, bem como jornalismo e migração. Atualmente, Liudmila coordena um projeto de investigação comparativo, The Future of Visual Journalism in Finland, Russia, and Sweden. Working With Photographs as Visual Truths (O Futuro do Jornalismo Visual na Finlândia, na Rússia e na Suécia. Trabalhar com Fotografias enquanto Verdades Visuais; 2023–2026; Foundation for Baltic and East European Studies, com Patrik Åker e Jenni Mäenpää).
