Fashion stands as one of society's most dynamic, captivating, and complex phenomena, earning it an influential role across myriad domains. These domains weave together the individual's place within society, reflecting and shaping the impact of personal and collective identities.

Mirroring who we are and, to a certain extent, who we once were, fashion leaves an indelible mark on time and defines the Zeitgeist of each historical moment.

As a visible expression of self, fashion declares, "this is who I am", embodying the visual dimension of one's personality. We are the only species that changes its skin every day, carrying profound social, economic, technological, and cultural significance. Through fashion, we project both the present moment and visions of the future, experimenting with postures, aesthetics, materials, dreams, and fantasies. Its inherently multidisciplinary nature enables fashion to engage in a constant dialogue with diverse influences that shape it continuously.

This thematic issue aims to create a space for exploring fashion through a lens that acknowledges its plurality and intersecting relationships with other fields. The multiple perspectives encouraged in this call for papers are intended to inspire pathways for innovative approaches and fresh insights.

Therefore, this publication aims to compile a plurality of perspectives on fashion. We intend to encompass not only the conventional areas of fashion but also to frame intersections from a multidisciplinary perspective that can yield new interpretations manifested through articles, reviews, and interviews.

In light of this, we propose the following topics for reflection:

  • fashion and sustainability: a world in the making;
  • fashion and communication (marketing, design, and advertising);
  • language and signs of fashion;
  • fashion: multi-, inter-, or transdisciplinarity;
  • digital technologies (artificial intelligence, 3D, augmented reality, and virtual reality) in the reconfiguration of fashion;
  • fashion from multiple perspectives.
